SIGNIFICANCE FOR COMPANY
During COVID-19 pandemic, Company carried out various work programs in environmental management activities. As a company engaged in mining business, Company realizes that changes in environment for better will contribute to reducing impact of climate change through management of Greenhouse Gases (“GHG”) emissions, management of water and wastewater use, handling of waste and hazardous toxic materials to maintain balance of nature through management of biodiversity. Company ensures efforts to reduce threats to environment due to its operations in various ways that are in line with 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and Paris Agreement on Climate Change.
Business activities carried out by Company generate economic benefits for development and community around area of operation. In process of operational activities, these business activities have an impact on environment such as use of fossil energy which can affect sustainability of nature with presence of GHG emissions. Therefore, Company ensures that all aspects and impacts on environment are managed effectively to prevent pollution and decrease carrying capacity of environment.
POLICY AND STRATEGY: ENVIRONMENTAL COMPLIANCE AND WASTE
Company is committed to achieving highest possible performance in environmental management as stated in Occupational Health and Safety, Operational Safety and Environmental policies. Purpose of this policy is to create a company with a safe, healthy and clean work environment in order to create safe, efficient and productive operational activities.
Company has established following environmental policies:
- Ensure all hazards and risks of “work safety and work environment” are managed effectively to prevent occurrence of occupational diseases, prevent occurrence of occupational diseases and create a healthy workplace.
- Ensure that all aspects and impacts on environment are managed effectively to prevent pollution and decrease carrying capacity of environment.
- Comply with all applicable laws and regulations, internal standards and other requirements.
- Support employee involvement (participation and consultation) in Occupational Health and Safety, Operational Safety and Environmental aspects in all work locations.
Company has also implemented ISO 14001:2015 which regulates environmental management system to maintain accountability for environmental management performance in all of Company's districts.
